“Post-Nanomedicine”
Short abstract: Nanomedicine is a clinical reality, with approximately 5-10% of current oncological drugs being of “nano”-nature. After over 20 years of focus at the nanoscale, mostly in connection with nanoparticle delivery systems, it is time to take stock of the lessons learned, and launch a novel phase of innovation and discovery, based on the wealth of knowledge garnered to date, both in terms of successes and limitations. In my talk I will explore some post-nano scenarios and horizons in precision oncology. In particular, I will discuss injectable NanoParticle Generators for polymer-doxorubicin conjugates (iNPG-pDox), Transport Oncophysics, Multi-Stage Vectors (MSV), Nano-DC vaccines, and nanochanneled implants (NanoGlands).
